Enhance the photograph that is there

Enhance the photograph that is there

The overnight build system processed our photo-enhance skill, focusing on enhancing existing brand photos rather than creating new scenes. This approach relies on the branding/brand-world.json to ensure that the enhancements align with the brand's current visual direction. Enhancements target specific attributes like light, tonal separation, material texture, depth, and color balance. For instance, if the source images are too dark, we aim to reveal luminous detail without losing the inherent darkness.

A resumable batch

To manage the workflow, each batch is tracked in production/<batch>/manifest.json with a schema version of "photo-enhancement/v1". The manifest includes critical information such as a stable id, source, sourceSha256, and the intended use. Each photograph progresses through statuses: pending, generated, reviewed, or rejected. A photograph reaches the reviewed status only after an agent has compared the source and output, affirming that mere generation doesn't imply approval.

The workflow demands viewing each source before editing, maintaining the camera original. If an image's encoding or dimensions cause rejections, we create an EXIF-normalized RGB JPEG reference proxy and retry with the same tool, ensuring input compatibility rather than enhancement.

Review and export

The review phase focuses on comparing the source and result for any changes in anatomy, subject count, labels, markings, boundaries, and crop. Any material drift results in rejection, and we maintain explicit review notes. Enhanced artwork must be clearly distinguished from the camera original in the internal provenance records.

Lossless outputs are stored durably, with high-quality masters and web exports documented for exact dimensions and hashes. We ensure that print suitability is calculated based on native pixels, printed image size, bleed, and the provider's template.

Side-by-side review desks are set up when beneficial, linking originals, accepted masters, and channel files. Only reviewed assets are available for use, ensuring quality and fidelity in the final outputs.
